St. Lawrence-FDR Project Visitors Center
The Frank S. McCullough, Jr. Hawkins Point Visitors
Center and Boat Launch offers panoramic views of the St.
Lawrence River and state-of-the-art hands-on exhibits.
We offer many opportunities to learn about energy
in a fun setting. You can hop on a bicycle generator and turn pedal
power into electricity or have a hair-raising experience with static
electricity using our Van de Graaff generator. Our audiovisual
terrain map charts the course of the mighty St. Lawrence River from
Ogdensburg to Massena.
Our Community Room and Theater are also available
to outside groups, and together can comfortably hold 100 people.
Throughout the year, we offer special programs and services to the
public here, including free showings of popular movies.
We also invite you to enjoy the many
other
attractions near our power project. Call us at 315-764-0226, Ext 302
or 800-262-NYPA (NYS residents only) for more information on
visitors center events or other questions.
