Our Living Oceans (OLO) provides a report
card to the Nation on the biological health of U.S.
living marine resources. Since 1991, OLO has presented
an overview of principal fishery and protected resource
stock assessments conducted by NOAA Fisheries. In 1992,
feature articles were added to highlight issues impacting
the agency’s assessment, management, and/or field
activities of note. Past features have covered the
1991-1992 El Nino, Bycatch Problems and Fishery Management,
Atlantic Striped Bass, Pacific Northwest Salmon, 1994
Marine Mammal Protection Act Amendments, the Precautionary
Approach, New England Groundfish, and a Status Review
of King Mackerel in the Gulf of Mexico.
