LHNCBC: What's New - RxTerms
What's New: RxTerms: a New Interface Terminology to RxNorm

November 2008

RxTerms is a drug interface terminology derived from RxNorm for prescription writing or medication history recording. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) is using RxTerms in a demonstration project of its post-acute care assessment tool (CARE), for which a Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) representation of the assessment tool is also being developed. The NLM is also using RxTerms in its Personal Health Record.
