Kansas City, MO -- Operating hours for the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) toll-free registration line will change on March 15, 2002. The new hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., five days a week. The toll-free registration line was established for residents and business owners in 43 designated Missouri counties to apply for disaster assistance because of the recent ice storm. Renters, homeowners and business owners with storm damage may apply for assistance by calling FEMA's toll-free registration line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

People with hearing or speech impairments may call TTY 1-800-462-7585. To date, over 16,800 applications have been received. Everyone who had any losses or damage from the storm should call and register for assistance. The registration line will continue to operate from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, until further notice.
