HARRISBURG, Pa. -- The Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) in Franklin, Schuylkill and Susquehanna counties are scheduled to close August 10, announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency (PEMA).

“We encourage anyone who has not had the opportunity to visit the DRCs, to do so before they close,” said Commonwealth Coordinating Officer James R. Joseph.

The DRCs will close at 7 p.m. on Thursday, August 10. Families and individuals needing answers to their questions about disaster assistance and the registration process can still visit the DRCs during normal operating hours, 10 a.m. – 7 p.m., on Tuesday, August 8, Wednesday, August 9, and Thursday, August 10. For assistance with questions after the DRCs close, applicants are encouraged to call the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

DRCs provide information on flood insurance, health and welfare assistance, housing assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration disaster-loan information, grants for those who are ineligible for loans, and food stamp eligibility.
