FEMA To Join SBA At Three Disaster Outreach Centers

ALBANY, N.Y. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will join with the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) at three SBA Disaster Outreach Centers to continue to ensure that the needs of those affected by the recent floods are met, officials of the two agencies announced today.

Although all Disaster Assistance Service Centers (DASCs) will close 6 p.m. Friday, August 4, SBA and FEMA will continue to provide in-person assistance with disaster-loan and disaster-aid applications and to answer questions at the following three SBA Disaster Outreach Centers effective Monday, August 7. The centers will operate during the hours indicated below.

Susquehanna Valley High School, 1040 Conklin Road Conklin, NY 13748 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.)

Walton High School, 47 Stockton Avenue, Walton, NY 13856 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.)

Sidney Civic Center, 21 Liberty Street, Sidney, NY 13838 (Monday-Friday, 9 a.m.-6 p.m.)

FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
