Second Disaster Recovery Center Opens In St. Louis Metropolitan Area

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- A second Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is opening at noon on Nov. 24 in the St. Louis metropolitan area to provide face-to-face assistance to those suffering damages from the September flooding:

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State Emergency Management Agency announced the following location and hours:

West End Recreation Center
724 Union Blvd.
St. Louis, MO 63108

Opening day, from noon to 7 p.m.; then from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until further notice.

The center will not be open on Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 27.

The DRC will remain open until no longer necessary.

Visitors should register with FEMA prior to visiting the DRC. Homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and private nonprofits may now register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- or hearing-impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily until further notice. Online registration is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week at www.fema.gov.

The University City DRC hours of operation are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily until further notice. It also will not be open Thanksgiving Day and will remain open until no longer necessary.
