PASADENA, Calif.  -- The Anaheim Local Assistance Center (LAC) transitioned to a Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in a nearby building on Tuesday.

The Anaheim DRC is located next to the East Anaheim Gymnasium.

Address: East Anaheim Community Center
8201 East Santa Ana Canyon Road
Anaheim, Calif.
(In the "Eucalyptus Room")

Hours: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.

Before going to a DRC, it is best to register with FEMA by calling 1-800-621-3362 (FEMA) (TTY 800-462-7585), or register online at www.fema.gov.  Applicants will be asked: name, address, telephone contact number, Social Security number, and insurance coverage. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete the application interview.

Applicants will be assigned a nine-digit registration number. They should write this number down and keep it safe.  Like a Social Security number, do not share this personal number with anyone. The number will be used by FEMA to track the progress of their recovery file.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
