Last fall, Project Impact in the Two Rivers-Ottauquechee Region reimbursed the Town of Royalton $16,800 for work undertaken to stabilize hundreds of feet of eroding bank on the White River in South Royalton. The cooperation of the Natural Resources Conservation Service was essential in moving that project to completion. This year, Project Impact will supply funds for river restoration in the Town of Granville that is part of a major project aimed at restoring stability to over a mile of the Upper White River that has suffered from dredging and channelization. We plan on working with private owners and the Town of Randolph to repair a series of dangerous man-made ponds on Hebard Hill in Randolph that almost failed during our last flood. These dams hold back several million gallons of water and are not designed to withstand major flooding.

In addition the TwoRivers-we will be working with a farm in Rochester to alleviate an unstable river section on the Upper White River that is cutting though their pasture.
