Disaster Assistance Teams Serve Darke, Auglaize Counties

Cridersville, OH -- Teams offering information and referrals for disaster assistance from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Ohio Emergency Management Agency (Ohio EMA) will be available to residents of Darke and Auglaize Counties this week. The team will be in Darke Tuesday and Wednesday and will now remain in Auglaize Thursday through Saturday.

Households and small businesses who suffered property damage as a result of the storms and flooding can get advice, information and help in filing applications for federal and state disaster aid from members of the team. But residents should begin the application process by calling toll-free:

The team will include program specialists on grants for temporary housing assistance and repairs, grants for serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance or other assistance programs, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) loans for eligible homeowners, renters and small businesses who suffered damages from the disaster, and advice and referrals on state programs such as disaster unemployment assistance.
