DES MOINES, Iowa -- Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) officials remind Iowans Saturday, Oct. 25, will be the final day the Linn County Disaster Recovery Center will be open.

The center, the last remaining disaster recovery center in the state, is located at Westdale Mall, 2600 Edgewood Road S.W., in Cedar Rapids. It will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Over 9,000 Iowans who sustained damages due to the severe storms, tornadoes and flooding have visited the center since it first opened June 24.

The Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division and FEMA opened the temporary Disaster Recovery Center to provide face-to-face assistance to Iowans in disaster-designated counties.

Iowans in the declared counties wanting to register for assistance can do so by calling FEMA's toll free line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), TTY 1-800-462-7585, or register online anytime at www.fema.gov.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
