ORLANDO, Fla. -- Three Disaster Recovery Centers in Northeast and South Florida will be closing this week. The recovery center in Callahan will close Friday at 3 p.m., while the center in Jacksonville will close Friday at 6 p.m. and the one in Moore Haven will shut down Saturday at 6 p.m., state and federal recovery officials announced.

The closures are based on declining foot traffic to the centers in the last week, officials said. Tropical Storm Fay survivors are urged to visit the centers to meet one-to-one with recovery specialists for help with specific disaster-related needs.

The Nassau County center is located at:

Nassau County Building
45401 Mickler St.
Callahan 32011

The Glades County center is located at:

Gun Range Classroom
1019 Gun Club Road
Moore Haven 33471

The Duval County center is located at:

Emmett Reed Community Center
1093 W. 6th St.
Jacksonville 32209

The centers in Duval, Glades and Nassau counties have been serving homeowners, renters and businesses affected by Tropical Storm Fay. Survivors can still stay in touch with a recovery specialist by using the FEMA helpline option at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or the TTY line for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired at 800-462-7585 from 7 a.m. to midnight daily until further notice. On the Web, disaster information remains available 24 hours a day at www.fema.gov.

Homeowners, renters and businesses in declared counties should use the same FEMA toll-free lines or Web site to register for FEMA disaster-assistance programs.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
