Mobile Recovery Center Effort Doubled

RALEIGH, N.C. -- As the federal-state disaster recovery effort gains momentum, a second mobile disaster recovery center will begin making rounds in three hard-hit eastern and central counties.
The mobile centers bring information about recovery programs and assist applicants directly in outlying areas that do not have fixed Disaster Recovery Centers. Over 17,250 applicants have visited the 20 operating recovery centers to date. The centers are staffed by state and Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) specialists and are intended to help individuals who have already called at 1-800-462-9029 to register for assistance.
The latest mobile recovery center will stop first in Hyde County on Wednesday, October 6, then continue on to Duplin, and Pitt counties during the next 10 days. The center will be open from 8a.m. to 7a.m. at each stop.

- Oct 6-8, O.A. Peay School, 1430 Main St., Swan Quarter, Hyde County.
- Oct 9-11, Chinquapin Fire Dept. 2800 S. NC Highway 41 & 50, Chinquapin, Duplin County.
- Oct. 12-13, Farmville Fire Dept. 120 North Main St., Farmville, Pitt County.
- Oct 14-15, Belvor Fire Dept. 4189 NC Highway 33 West, Belvor, Pitt County.
- Oct. 16, Clarks Neck Fire Dept. 5440 Clarks Neck Road, Clarks Neck, Pitt County.
All Disaster Recovery Centers will be open daily from 8a.m. to 7p.m.
