FEMA Disaster Housing Assistance Tops $536,000 For Missourians

Kansas City, MO -- In one week, more than $536,000 in disaster housing assistance has been provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to Missourians affected by the recent ice storm.
"We are pleased to have been able to provide so much aid so quickly," said FEMA Federal Coordinating Officer William Lokey. "By getting checks in the mail totaling more than a half-million dollars in just one week, FEMA is helping Missourians recover from the winter storm."
More than 8,300 Missourians have already registered for federal disaster assistance through FEMA's toll-free number, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
Homeowners, renters and business owners affected by the ice storm who have not registered for disaster assistance are urged to do so. The only way to register for federal disaster assistance is by calling the FEMA registration number: 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). TTY service is available at 1-800-462-7585 for anyone who is hearing or speech impaired. Missourians affected by the ice storm should also contact their insurance agents.
