SANTA FE, N.M. -- The Office of Cerro Grande Fire Claims has paid a total of $269,889,750 in compensation on 15,789 claims; of those claims, 13,755 or 87% have been completed. There have been 4,001 subrogation claims submitted to date for processing. No subrogation claims have been paid.

Those who wish to file a Notice of Loss resulting from the May 2000 Cerro Grande Fire may do so by visiting the Los Alamos Service Center or by calling the toll-free teleregistration number and information line, 1-888-748-1853. The closing date for filing a claim is August 28, 2002.
