FEMA Awards $755,246 Grant To Kiamichi Electric Co-Op

Denton, TX -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has approved a grant of $755,246 for the Kiamichi Electric Cooperative to help pay the costs to remove debris following last winter's ice storm. Ron Castleman, FEMA Region VI Director said FEMA was paying for 75 percent of the $1,006,994 project.

"The winter storms caused extensive damage across Oklahoma," Castleman said, "and we are happy to be a part of the recovery effort. This grant will help Kiamichi Electric Cooperative recover part of the cost for debris removal."

Kiamichi Electric Cooperative serves the area of Atoka, Latimer, LeFlore, Pittsburg and Pushmataha Counties.
