Ladysmith, WI -- Federal and state officials have announced that disaster assistance application phone lines will now be in operation Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. They urge homeowners, renters and business owners in the 19 declared counties who suffered damage or loss in the September 2 storms to call immediately to apply for disaster assistance.

The FEMA toll-free application number is 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with a speech or hearing impairment can call TTY 1-800-462-7585. Phone lines will be operational during the new hours of 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday only. FEMA operators will take necessary application information, check on application status for those who have already applied or answer questions regarding assistance programs and services.
