ORLANDO, Fla. -- Thursday is the final day to apply for federal/state assistance if you had losses from Hurricane Dennis. Even if you haven't received your insurance settlement, call or apply online by the end of the day Sept. 8.

The fastest way to register is to apply online at www.fema.gov. To register by phone, call the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The special TTY number is 1-800-462-7585 for applicants who are speech- or hearing-impaired.

Loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for disaster-related losses to real and personal property and businesses of all sizes must also be submitted by the Sept. 8 deadline. SBA officials encourage anyone who has received a disaster loan application to turn it in as soon as possible. Failure to complete and return your SBA home loan application will stop consideration for other assistance programs, including additional grants.

A total of $74,534,197 in disaster assistance has been approved for those impacted by Hurricane Dennis and funds continue to flow to the area and people:
