All three agencies are working with hurricane evacuees to help them recover from the loss of their homes, personal property and livelihoods. In addition to these agencies, various other organizations will be on-hand to assist with other aspects of recovery.

Representatives from FEMA's Individual Assistance program will meet with evacuees one-on-one to answer questions as well as review applications. Those who have not yet registered for assistance can receive assistance with registering while at the event.

All evacuees are urged to register with FEMA. To register or talk to representatives on the Helpline, call FEMA toll-free at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). The special number for those with hearing or speech impairment is TTY 1-800-462-7585. Individuals may also register for disaster assistance online at the FEMA Web site www.fema.gov.

SBA Customer Service Representatives will be on hand at the fair to issue loan applications, answer questions about SBA's disaster loan program, explain the application process and help each individual complete their application.

Low-interest disaster loans from SBA are the primary form of federal assistance for long term recovery for homeowners and renters, as well as businesses of all sizes and private, non-profit organizations.

Individuals and business owners who are unable to attend one of these events, may obtain information and loan applications by calling SBA toll free 1-800-659-2955 between 5 a.m. and 10 p.m. Central Standard Time, seven days a week.

HUD will help eligible evacuees with locating housing. Those unable to attend should call HUD toll-free at 1-888-373-9509 to find out if they qualify.

FEMA prepares the nation for all hazards and manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, trains first responders, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program and the U.S. Fire Administration. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
