ORLANDO, Fla. -- Officials of the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Florida State Emergency Response Team (SERT) will announce the distribution of almost $27 million in Public Assistance funds to recipients in six counties by press conference call on Wednesday, April 6 at 11:00 a.m. EDT.

FEMA Recovery Division Director Dan Craig, and SERT Deputy State Coordinating Officer Frank Koutnik are announcing the funding approved for eligible applicants in Escambia, Lee, Orange, Osceola and Polk counties as well as the Sheriffs' offices in Orange and St. Lucie counties.

Some of the funding in this announcement is part of an expedited process that advances local governments money to pay for eligible debris removal costs and emergency protective measures.

The two disaster recovery officials will also discuss the Public Assistance process and answer questions from members of the media.
