WICHITA, Kan. -- Disaster Recovery Centers (DRC) in Haysville and Wichita will convert to U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) workshops on Friday, May 28.
The center in Haysville is located in the old Leeker Building at 325 North Main. The center in Wichita is located in the old Spaghetti Jack's building in the West Way Shopping Center at 2561 South Seneca Street.
The centers are a resource for disaster victims. They provide access to specialists on assistance programs, mitigation techniques and the SBA loan program. The DRCs have provided assistance and information to more than 1,200 Kansans who survived the recent tornadoes.
While the centers will be closed on Sunday, May 23, they will remain open until the close of business on Thursday, May 27. On Friday, May 28, they will become SBA workshops. The workshops will be open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. until further notice.
SBA workshops provide an opportunity for storm victims to discuss their loan applications directly with an SBA representative. Completing the application does not obligate the applicant to an SBA loan, but it is a required step in determining if they are eligible for other types of assistance.

Residents and business owners in Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner counties who have tornado damage should register for disaster assistance by calling the FEMA toll-free registration number 1-800-462-9029 (TTY 1-800-462-7585).
