Charleston, WV -- More than $750,000 has been released for the Federal Emergency Management Agency's (FEMA) Public Assistance reimbursement to the 20 West Virginia counties declared for the record and near-record snowfall that began Feb. 16. Additional grants are still in review.

Government entities such as state agencies, county and local governments received reimbursement for snow removal from emergency routes and other primary roads for emergency vehicle use. Eligible expenditures can include but are not limited to plowing, de-icing, salting and sanding operations incurred during a 48-hour period.
