Wise, VA -- The Hurley Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is still in operation from at the Hurley Middle School on Route 643. Volunteer services such as emergency food and clothing distribution have moved to a warehouse building in Grundy, but the Center will remain in the Hurley Middle School.

The Recovery Center is open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. It will be open on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27.

The Recovery Center provides face-to-face information and assistance for victims of the late April, early May flash floods that caused widespread damage in the Hurley area and elsewhere.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says more than 400 residents have visited the Hurley DRC since it started operations in the wake of the floods.
