Examples of essential repairs may include those to electrical and plumbing systems, as well as general carpentry to make a home safe, secure and livable.

State Coordinating Officer Cash Centers added, "Affected residents and business owners in the declared counties should apply for assistance immediately if they have not done so already. This can be done by calling FEMA's toll-free teleregistration number, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 for the speech or hearing impaired. This number is available Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., until further notice."
