Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers To Visit Two Counties

London, KY -- A mobile disaster recovery center will be visiting three sites in two counties over the next two weeks to assist victims of the severe storms and floods that struck Kentucky in the past two months.
The mobile units are provided by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management. Personnel from FEMA's Human Services and Hazard Mitigation sections, the U. S. Small Business Administration and representatives of Commonwealth agencies will be present in the centers to provide assistance and answer questions about the recovery process.

Federal Coordinating Officer Mike Bolch joined Kentucky Commonwealth Coordinating Officer Cash Centers in encouraging individuals affected by the storms and floods to visit the mobile sites. "There are many programs available for homeowners, renters and businesses," said Bolch. "This is a great opportunity for individuals to sit down with program professionals and get answers to all of their recovery questions."
Centers added, "Residents affected by the severe weather may visit any disaster recovery center. You are not limited to visiting the recovery center nearest you."
Kentuckians who have suffered losses in the disaster-designated counties are urged to start the recovery process by call FEMA's toll-free number, 1-800-621-3362. Persons with hearing and/or speech impairments should call TTY 1-800-462-7585.
