Nashville, TN -- As the federal-state disaster recovery effort continues to reach out to Tennessee's storm survivors with unmet needs, a mobile Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) will locate in Wayne County to serve south central residents who have applied assistance.
The mobile center is to be staffed by personnel from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).

Disaster applicant service specialists will provide information on available assistance, including the Individuals and Households program, SBA low-interest home and business loans and other programs to help cover residential and business losses not fully covered by insurance. In addition, referrals will be made to crisis counseling, disaster unemployment assistance, legal services and income tax casualty loss refunds.
Before visiting the DRC, applicants should register for assistance by calling toll-free 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Individuals with speech or hearing impairment who use special keyboard equipment (TDD) should call 1-800-462-7585. The lines are open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week until further notice.
Applicants are reminded to bring their FEMA registration number and social security number when visiting the disaster center. They are not required to visit a DRC, but are invited to do so if they have questions about disaster aid or want to check the status of their requests. In addition to three mobile centers moving among counties, three fixed-site DRCs are open in Jackson, Murfreesboro, and Chattanooga.
