WACO, Texas -- A Mobile Disaster Recovery Center (MDRC) is returning to Bell County to offer assistance to residents affected by the severe storms and flooding June 16 through August 3. Recovery specialists will be available to answer questions residents may have about the disaster aid process. The MDRC will open in Salado on Monday, August 13 and operate daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through Friday, August 17. It will be located at:

Disaster recovery centers are a one-stop shop for affected individuals to learn more about the disaster aid process. Individuals can meet face-to-face with disaster recovery specialists to check on the status of their application, learn about other types of aid that may be available, and receive information about how to avoid future disaster losses when repairing or rebuilding. Customer service representatives from the U.S. Small Business Administration will be on hand to answer questions and help renters, homeowners, businesses of any size, and private non-profit organizations fill out loan applications.

FEMA is currently operating three fixed DRCs, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., in the following locations:

Affected individuals can visit any open DRC. Texans in declared counties are encouraged to register before visiting a DRC. To register, individuals can call 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for individuals with speech or hearing impairment. Online registration is also available at www.fema.gov.

FEMA coordinates the federal government’s role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
