Disaster Information Centers Scheduled For Missoula

Helena, MT -- Representatives of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the State of Montana will host a mobile Disaster Information Center in Missoula, Montana to provide information on disaster assistance programs for individuals and businesses that were impacted by the state's recent wildfires. Representatives from FEMA, other federal, state, and local agencies, and volunteer organizations will be on hand to talk with people about the programs that provide assistance.

The Center's location and hours are as follows:

10 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Business owners or people with property losses or self-employed individuals or businesses who have suffered economic damage from the wildfires and forest closures should call FEMA's toll-free registration line at 1-800-745-0243 (TTY 1-800-462-7585 for the speech- or hearing-impaired) to register for the various assistance programs before they visit the Center. Some of the programs available to help Montanans affected by the fires include:

Businesses that suffered economic losses directly or indirectly as a result of the fires should also call Montana's Department of Commerce at 1-406-444-3814 / 9592 or visit the Web at www.commerce.state.mt.us to report those losses. This information will be used to help calculate the disaster's economic damage to the State of Montana.
