Little Rock, AR -- The remaining $6,743,702.80 in funds from Public Assistance processed projects will be released to Hempstead County from the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management (ADEM) and are funded by The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Soon after the December ice storms were declared a federal disaster, FEMA released an initial payment of $580,243 to Hempstead County to expedite the cleanup of eligible debris. Totaled processed projects in the county totals $7,323,945.80.

Work consists of eligible debris removal from county roads and right of ways.

President George W. Bush determined that the reimbursement rate for eligible debris removal in this disaster would be increased to 100 percent.
