Little Rock, AR -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) announced Tuesday that federal funding for eligible debris removal from the December ice storms will continue to be reimbursed to Arkansas cities and counties at 100 percent through June 28.

The extension is only for cities and counties that have not completed removal of eligible debris. After June 28, the federal government will no longer fund debris removal for the ice storms.

The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as of April 24, has obligated $133.6 million in disaster assistance to Arkansas under the Public Assistance Program. The program gets financial help to local and county governments and some non-profit agencies covered under a Presidential disaster declaration. The funds are distributed by the Arkansas Department of Emergency Management (ADEM).
