FEMA Providing Daily Texas Housing Status Updates On The Web

AUSTIN, Texas -- Beginning today, the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be issuing a daily Texas Direct Housing Status. A link to the updated housing slides and a FAQ housing fact sheet can be found at the bottom of the FEMA Ike Web site at www.fema.gov/news/event.fema?id=10570.

These daily status updates will provide current cumulative progress of temporary housing placement and the daily cumulative status snapshot. The updates will include:

Daily information updates will provide a transparent operational picture of FEMA's progress in addressing emergency housing needs for eligible applicants from Hurricane Ike.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
