Mission Statement:
- Develops and applies statistical methods to investigate the epidemiology and inheritance of alcoholism and related psychiatric disorders in populations and pedigrees;
- performs automated DNA marker typing and conducts two- and multi-point genetic linkage analysis using parametric and non-parametric methods;
- investigates disease frequencies in population isolates by integrating information on inbreeding and founder effects into linkage and transmission analysis; and
- studies extent and meaning of genetic variation in human populations.
