Language and Knowledge Processing research investigates how to build and improve systems that extract usable and meaningful information from biomedical text in support of advanced information management applications at the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM). Evaluating the effectiveness of systems being developed is an ongoing and fundamental aspect of these projects.
