Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research Launches New Web Site, January 8, 2009
A redesigned and enhanced Web site for scientists, advocacy groups, the media and the general public, providing key information on behavioral and social science research and activities at the NIH, is now online at http://obssr.od.nih.gov.

The site, which features a new appearance, format and architecture, was launched by the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research, in the Office of the Director at the National Institutes of Health.

The site contains more readily accessible and searchable information on funding opportunity announcements, key scientific areas, a calendar of news and events and video casts of the BSSR Lecture Series.

OBSSR Director Dr. David Abrams Receives Joseph W. Cullen Memorial Award, November 9, 2007
In recognition of his contributions to the field of tobacco research, David Abrams, Ph.D., director of the Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR), in the Office of the Director, at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), is the recipient of the 2008 Joseph W. Cullen Memorial Award from the American Society for Preventive Oncology (ASPO). Since his arrival in 2005, he has led OBSSR in its mission to stimulate and coordinate behavioral and social sciences research throughout NIH with the ultimate goal of improving our nation’s health.
