Sinkhole caused by flooding being repaired in Iowa

Vinton, IA, June 20, 2008 -- The news that Benton County has been designated a disaster county could not have come at a better time for the residents of Vinton, which was flooded by the Cedar River on June 12. When the city started pumping out the sewer lines, it created a sinkhole on 2nd Street East. Thanks to yesterday's designation, Vinton is now eligible to apply with FEMA for Public Assistance money.
