Improving Public Health Grey Literature Access for the Public Health Workforce
Elizabeth Liddy, Ph.D.
2007-11-14
The Improving Public Health Grey Literature Access for the Public Health Workforce project aims to provide improved access to relevant public health grey literature reports. We are building a web-based system that collects relevant reports on chronic diseases, then filters, evaluates, and processes them with Natural Language Processing (NLP) techniques to produce informative model summaries. We then provide a search capability that enables practitioners to search using naturally-phrased queries and to quickly scan the model summaries. This talk covers a description of the project, its current status, and future tasks. Dr. Elizabeth Liddy is Interim Dean and Trustee Professor in the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University. She is also Founding Director of the school’s Center for Natural Language Processing.
