The Consumer Health Information Seeking initiative focuses on understanding and improving access to online health information. The consumer health vocabularies project seeks to map words and phrases commonly used by consumers to technical medical terms and concepts. The information seeking process initiative explores the search and navigation behavior of consumers using health information systems. The latest project uses cognitive science approaches to learn how laypersons interpret health-related concepts and act on their understanding. |
