SUBJECT:	National Advisory Council (NAC) Recommendation Regarding Development of a Regional Disability Coordinator Position


The NAC is pleased that you agree with our recommendation that FEMA create a Regional Disability Coordinator position within each of the ten FEMA Regions.  

During its December 10-11, 2008 meeting in Dallas, Texas, the National Advisory Council unanimously approved the provision of the following recommendation to FEMA.

Recommendation:

FEMA should include the Special Needs Subcommittee in the process of developing the position description and qualifications of the Regional Disability Coordinator position to be implemented in each of the FEMA regional offices.
