The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Mitigation Directorate has produced an array of useful resources for National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and Flood Map Modernization (Map Mod) stakeholders, including participants in the FEMA Cooperating Technical Partners (CTP) Program. Links to some of the most frequently used resources produced by or for FEMA are provided below. Select a category and follow the links to obtain information about these resources and instructions for downloading the resource(s) needed.
These and other resources produced by FEMA are located in the FEMA Library.
The legislation that enables the NFIP, and the regulations instituted by FEMA to implement the legislation, are accessible through the links below.
FEMA developed the resources below for State agencies, regional entities, and communities who are participating in the CTP Program or who are considering participation in the CTP Program.
FEMA produced the resources below for FEMA, mapping partner, and contractor staff that are actively involved in the production and processing of new and updated flood hazard maps in support of the NFIP.
The Compendium of Flood Map Changes is a list of all the changes made to the NFIP maps including Physical Map Revisions, Letters of Map Revision (LOMRs), LOMR-Fs, and LOMAs during a given 6-month period. The list also includes and Letter of Map Change Revalidation (LOMC-VALID) letters and Summary of Map Actions (SOMA) documents issued for studies and restudies. The list is published every 6 months as a Notice in the Federal Register. The Compendium is primarily used by insurance and lending industry stakeholders.
The FEMA resources below were produced to provide information regarding flood hazards and other natural hazards. These resources do not directly apply to the production and processing of new and updated flood hazard maps.
