Covering more than 5,900 journals in science and technology and 1,700 journals in the social sciences, Journal Citation Reports (JCR) provides data to assist with journal evaluation. For each journal covered, JCR lists the:
- number of articles published in a particular year
- number of citations to the journal from articles published that year
- impact factor for the journal (see The Thomson Scientific Impact Factor).
Authors may use this data to track journals in which they have published and to identify new journals in their areas of research.
To view the JCR data for 2007, go to the Databases webpage of the NIH Library website and select Journal Citation Reports.
