New Hours Set for Travel Trailer Hotline/Applicant Services

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Travel Trailer/Applicants Services Call Center operating hours are now 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, according to the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
Services the centers offers include:
- Interviewing applicants, providing information and immediate referrals.
- Informing applicants of the various processes including appeals and re-certification.
- Responding to requests for applicant status.
- Assessing appeals for various forms of disaster assistance.
The call center will remain fully staffed with telephone operators. The Applicant Services/Travel Trailer Call Center toll-free number is 1-888-294-2822. During the off hours, an automated message will inform the callers of the new hours and directions on how to operate the automated system.
Applicants seeking information on other FEMA services may access information by calling the FEMA Helpline at 1-800-621-3362. Hearing-or speech- impaired individuals may call 1-800-462-7585.
FEMA manages federal response and recovery efforts following any national incident. FEMA also initiates mitigation activities, works with state and local emergency managers, and manages the National Flood Insurance Program. FEMA became part of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security on March 1, 2003.
