Job Description

NIH offers opportunities to perform scientific work in a medical research setting that involves designing, developing, and adapting mathematical methods and techniques to statistical processes. Mathematical statisticians design and use methods that provide the technical framework for developing sampling strategies to collect data; perform methodological research and serve as staff advisors on the potentials and limitations of statistical methods. These positions require professional knowledge of the principles, theories, concepts, and methodology of mathematical statistics; automated systems and computer programs; and data sources, to conduct analytical investigations using scientific methodology and problem solving.
