Lynn Bosco, MD, MPH
Medical Officer
Lynn Bosco, MD, MPH joined Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research (OBSSR) in 2007. Prior to moving to NIH she worked at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ) for sixteen years as Director of Pharmaceutical Studies where she was the principal developer of the therapeutics research program, including the Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs). Prior to working at AHRQ, Dr. Bosco spent six years at the Food and Drug Administration in various roles, including Section Chief/Team Leader within the Office of Epidemiology and Biostatics. Dr. Bosco has spent 23 years as an Officer within the Commissioned Corp of the US Public Health Service where she holds the rank of captain. Dr. Bosco currently holds an appointment as Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Maryland’s School of Medicine, where she taught within the epidemiology program. She has also worked as a Family Physician. Dr. Bosco received a B.A. in psychology from the University of Illinois and an M.D. from Rush Medical College, in Chicago. She interned at the Los Angeles County Hospital and completed a residency in preventive medicine within the Department of Epidemiology, at the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health, where she also received an M.P.H. Dr. Bosco is Board Certified in General Preventive Medicine and Public Health, and in Clinical Pharmacology. She is a member of the Board of Directors for the International Society of Pharmacoepidemiology and the Commissioned Corp applied public health emergency response team.
