Job Description

Veterinary medical officers within NIH apply their veterinary expertise to a wide range of work from laboratory animal medicine, to epidemiology and pathology research, and public health. The work involves promoting the health and welfare of both animals and the public through research and the advancement of veterinary medicine. The work requires professional knowledge of a wide range of veterinary medical concepts, techniques, principles, and practices, including anatomy, bacteriology, chemistry, epidemiology, immunology, microbiology, parasitology, pathology, pharmacology, physiology, serology, toxicology, virology, and other basic clinical sciences.
