NCCAM Advisory Council

The public is welcome to attend the open session of the NCCAM advisory council meeting beginning at 11 a.m. Invited speaker Dr. David Eisenberg from Harvard will reflect on NCCAM's past 10 years. NCCAM Director, Dr. Josephine Briggs will give remarks to kick off our anniversary year.

Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture in the Science of CAM

This March 10 lecture is the inaugural lecture of the Stephen E. Straus Distinguished Lecture in the Science of Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Sherwin B. Nuland, M.D., Clinical Professor of Surgery at Yale University and distinguished author will present the first lecture "Chinese Medicine, Western Science, and Acupuncture."

NIH MedlinePlus Magazine

Winter/Spring 2009 issue

NCCAM will produce a 6-page section on complementary and alternative medicine for MedlinePlus Magazine, a periodical published by the Friends of the National Library of Medicine. The magazine has broad reach to patients and physicians (100,000 issues are distributed to doctor's offices around the country).

Complementary and Alternative Medicine: Focus on Research and Care Newsletter

The NCCAM newsletter has a new name and a new face. It is being expanded and redesigned in 2009 to include 16 full-color pages, with patient education pull-outs. The newsletter will be published three times a year.
