Orleans Workshop Rescheduled For May 10

NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The Orleans Parish workshop on Advisory Base Flood Elevations and Increased Cost of Compliance (ICC), originally scheduled for Wednesday, May 3, has been moved back one week to Wednesday, May 10.

The workshop at the New Orleans City Hall Council Chambers will include an afternoon session for officials, and an evening session for the general public.

Technical information for elected officials, building officials, realtors, surveyors, adjusters, insurance agents, and lenders will be held from 3 - 5 p.m. The public is invited to attend from 7 - 8:30 p.m. to receive information and present questions.

ICC coverage is provided under insurance policies from the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) of the Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). ICC enables eligible flood insurance policyholders who reside in high-risk flood hazard areas to receive up to $30,000 to assist with the cost of bringing their homes or businesses into compliance with local floodplain ordinances.
