NIA Intramural Research Program Summer Program |
How To Apply |
Applications for Summer 2008 are no longer being accepted. Applications for Summer 2009 will be accepted beginning on November 15, 2008 and will end on March 1, 2009. |
Prospective candidates must apply electronically at the NIH Office of Intramural Training and Education web site http://www.training.nih.gov/apps/publicForms/sip/forms/sipApp.aspx. The electronic application requires submission of a curriculum vitae or resume, a cover letter describing the applicant's research interests and career goals, and the names and contact information for two references. Candidates are asked to specify the scientific methodologies or disease/organ systems that interest them. All students are required to apply online to be eligible to participate in the summer program; this includes former students who would like to return to the NIA/IRP Summer Program. Under Institute/Center preference (item no. 9), select the National Institute on Aging (Baltimore or Bethesda). After you submit the application, please send an email to the NIA Summer Program Office, niasummer@mail.nih.gov, to let them know that you have applied to the NIA Summer Program. |
Before applying, review the information provided below about the research conducted at our various locations. You are also encouraged to review our list of intramural program investigators, http://www.grc.nia.nih.gov/branches/irp/investigators.htm, or the NIA IRP 2006 Factbook. |
