New Members Appointed to NAGMS Council

Three new members were appointed to the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council. They are Mariano A. Garcia-Blanco, M.D., Ph.D., of Duke University Medical Center, Durham; Howard H. Garrison, Ph.D., of the Federation of American Societies for Experimental Biology, Bethesda; and Alejandro Sánchez Alvarado, Ph.D., of University of Utah School of Medicine, Salt Lake City.

HHS Secretary Michael O. Leavitt has appointed three new members to the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council.  They are Clifford W. Houston, Ph.D., of the University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston; Steven L. McKnight, Ph.D., of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas; W. James Nelson, Ph.D., of Stanford University; and Timothy O’Leary, M.D., Ph.D., of the Department of Veterans Affairs.

HHS Secretary Michael O. Leavitt has appointed two new members to the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council. They are Edwin S. Flores, Ph.D., Esq., of Chalker Flores, LLP; and Paula E. Stephan, Ph.D., of the Georgia State University Andrew Young School of Policy Studies.

HHS Secretary Tommy G. Thompson has appointed five new members to the National Advisory General Medical Sciences Council. They are Francine Berman, Ph.D., of the University of California, San Diego; Kathleen M. Giacomini, Ph.D., of the University of California, San Francisco; John C. Goodman, Ph.D., of the National Center for Policy Analysis; Brian W. Matthews, Ph.D., of the University of Oregon; and Lisa Staiano-Coico, Ph.D., of the Joan and Sanford I. Weill Medical College of Cornell University.
