Superlist - Regulatory and Other Lists of Chemicals
SuperList is a set of data in the NLM ChemIDplus file which carries data from selected regulatory or scientific Lists on which the specific substance appears. This data is carried in the Name of Substance, Classification Code, Note, and the SuperList Locator Field.
For example, the ChemIDplus record for formaldehyde, a substance included in the National Toxicology Program Carcinogen
List (NTPA) shows the SuperList Locator field displaying the value "NTPA". Likewise, the field points to IARC (International Agency for Research in Cancer List) as well as to various other Lists since formaldehyde is regulated by a
number of organizations. The IARC SuperList Locator is hyperlinked to the pertinent
IARC document on formaldehyde, which will be shown in the right hand frame.
Initially, SuperList Locators are provided for 34 such Lists. More will be added or deleted as needed. The names of the Lists and their acronyms follow.
