Dollars the Missouri Treasury has received

Gov. Jay Nixon has created two special state funds to track every dollar the Missouri Treasury receives under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act: the federal budget stabilization fund and the federal stimulus fund. As Missouri receives funds under the recovery act, this page will list every dollar received, the date upon which the funds were received, the federal source of the funds, the state account into which those funds have been deposited and the items for which those funds were spent.

Funds for Unemployment Benefits

On Feb. 19, Gov. Nixon signed an agreement with the U.S. Department of Labor that will use federal dollars to provide unemployed Missourians with an additional $25 a week as they seek to return to the workforce. The agreement uses federal funding provide through the Assistance for Unemployed Workers and Struggling Families Act, which was passed as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. Under this law, Missouri will receive sufficient funding to increase this weekly benefit at no cost to the state; the increased assistance to unemployed Missourians will continue through June 30, 2010. This chart will track funds received under this agreement. These funds do not enter the state treasury; instead, they are deposited into the state’s unemployment trust fund.
